LITIGATION

Legal actions or matters subject to court proceedings are referred to as litigation cases. A great number of cases never actually reach court as parties often reach an agreement before or even on the morning of the hearing. We can help you prepare for court and appear on your behalf on the day if necessary.

Every case is different. It is often difficult to predict the outcome. However, the following points summarise what we can do for you in a litigation matter:

• after receiving instructions, we can advise you on your options and make recommendations on the steps to take. We will discuss with you the possibilities of reaching an early settlement prior to the actual court hearing
• as solicitors we can appear on your behalf in any court from the initial appearance up to and including the final hearing/s. If your case requires the services of a barrister, we can arrange for the barrister to be an advocate for you
• whether we choose to use a barrister or not, the carriage of the case is the firm's responsibility. We ensure that your case is properly prepared for hearing by collecting the necessary evidence, filling the required documents with the court and arranging conferences with experts and other witnesses.
